Get ready for an action-packed weekend of continuing education and networking for Virginia’s emergency physicians, residents, and students. Hear from an all-star lineup of ER docs on topics relevant to our speciality and enjoy plenty of time for activities in and around Colonial Williamsburg.
The Friday evening Welcome Reception is sponsored by healthcare revenue cycle management provider Zotec Partners.
Registration opens Friday at 12:30 p.m. and is available all weekend. To get to the registration desk, follow the signage: take the hall away from the hotel check-in, turn right, go to the end of that hall, and take the stairs down to the conference area.
At 5:30 p.m. Friday, enjoy a Welcome reception in the Virginia Foyer.
Early birds are invited to a 5:45 a.m. Saturday 3-mile run/jog led by Jeff Kelley, who handles VACEP communications. Meet at the Lodge entrance. Back-to-last format, meaning no one gets left behind and all abilities welcome.
General sessions begin Saturday at 8:30, and Sunday at 8:15.
Don't miss the keynote speech from ACEP President Christopher Kang at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Saturday afternoon is free time, but also includes neurology lectures from Harvard Medical School’s Dr. Jonathan Edlow, the fabled resident Jeopardy!, and our popular Residency Program Directors' panel.
We hope everyone can make it to Precarious Beer Project at 6:30 p.m. Saturday for a family FUNdraiser. “Give an Hour” donors ($150) to our Political Action Committee get two free drink tickets and a food ticket. Enjoy drinks, food, and classic arcade games and pinball machines. And a raffle. And it’s walkable.
For those new to VACEP, at 1:30 on Sunday is orientation for newly elected Directors and Councillors. Orientation is optional for existing volunteers, though highly recommended if you are new to the team!
We have coupons available for The Peanut Shop, Second Street Bistro, Operation Escape, The Magic Theatre, Surry Seafood Company, and a few other local spots. These will be available at Registration.
