7:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Starting at Commonwealth Strategy Group and visiting the General Assembly Building
118 N. 8th St., Richmond
What happens in Richmond affects all of Virginia. So join us at the state capitol to make sure lawmakers pass legislation supporting emergency medicine while stopping bills that harm patient care. Your ability to practice quality medicine, how you are reimbursed, and scope of practice are just a few of the ways the decisions made in Richmond trickle into our EDs — for better or worse. January 22 is EM Advocacy Day.
Meet other emergency physicians and see how laws are created or defeated. Take an active role and share your stories and expertise with lawmakers, or simply observe veteran VACEP members. The day starts at 87:30 a.m. in Richmond and wraps up
7:30 a.m. Coffee and Briefing
8:30 a.m. Walk to legislator offices/split into groups
9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Meet with legislators
12 to 1 p.m. Debrief and lunch
